Me
If you like to know a little more about who you are working with, I am happy to share that I love photography, playing tennis, dancing like no one is watching and travelling. And sunshine. Lots and lots of sunshine.
People are the reason I studied psychology. I love to learn and understand and, best of all, I love helping other people to do the same.
I decided to work for myself and set up Psychology Unlimited, in order to focus on the type of work I value most as an Educational Psychologist. I enjoy many things about working in a local authority context, but I am pleased to be able to offer high quality, flexible, creative and tailored services as a private practitioner.
How I Work
Collaborative
I work together with you to find solutions that work for your particular situation. I actively ask for your thoughts and ideas, as well as respect and value them. We agree any plan of action or intervention before carrying it out. If there are any other professionals that are already involved, or people you think are important to include, I strive to engage them, to benefit from multiple perspectives.
Creative
I draw on a wide variety of psychological models and techniques to find the best fit for your goals or concerns. I tailor any consultation, assessment or intervention to suit you (and/or your child, if applicable). I take an holistic approach to your goals or concerns; in other words I look at all the areas that may be contributing, to better understand what is happening and what we can do about it. I am flexible and adaptable according to your changing needs.
Conscientious
I want to do the best that I can for you. I do not undertake work that I cannot deliver to a high standard. My reports and presentations are thorough and clear. Assessments and interventions are carefully thought through and analysed in depth. I review and evaluate my service to make sure that I am effective and you are satisfied. My practice is evidence-based and my professional integrity is of the utmost importance to me.
Compassionate
I am open, approachable and accessible. I understand your goal or concern is very important to you. I appreciate your viewpoint and show empathy for your situation. I manage difficult conditions sensitively and support you at a pace you are comfortable with. My goal is to share my knowledge and empower you, so that you can progress confidently and independently.
